Today is Wednesday, the 15th of January 2025. The schools are opened, most of us are back to work, and it all just feels like things are back to normal. It is perhaps a good time to sit back and take a moment to reflect and/or take account of a lot things.
As we look back on the past year, we celebrate our growth while acknowledging areas for improvement. Though we strive to function as an organization, we never lose sight of the fact that the church is a gathering of people from diverse walks of life, coming together to fellowship and learn from one another. In this journey, we sometimes get things right, and other times we falter. However, we hold onto the truth that we do not walk alone—we walk with Christ, our Savior.
Walking Together in Faith
Last year was a pivotal period of growth for our church and organization. We were reminded of the power of family support during difficult times, such as the loss of loved ones. Together, we worked to rebuild strained relationships, and we saw God’s provision even in seasons of financial challenge. Through the generosity of many, we reached out and received the support we needed.
We were inspired by testimonies of God’s faithfulness—stories of deliverance from harsh and painful situations—and encouraged by those who continue steadfastly in their faith while waiting on God to move. It is a remarkable discipline to trust in God’s promises, no matter the circumstances.
A Year of Milestones
The year 2024 also marked the ordination of our Apostle and founding father. This event highlighted the power of unity and collaboration in achieving a shared goal. The fundraising committee worked tirelessly and impressively, and the congregation’s unwavering support ensured the event’s success.
This milestone was a powerful reminder that together, we can accomplish much. It also reaffirmed our commitment to building a strong, united community that honors God in all we do.
Strength Through Renewal
As the year drew to a close, we witnessed a shift in mindset within the congregation. Resilience, hope, and determination replaced feelings of defeat. With courage for the next chapter, we trusted in God’s plans for the future.
New believers displayed commitment to their foundational teachings, and our praise and worship team welcomed new members. We were reminded that we are clay in the hands of the Potter, trusting Him to shape us into the best versions of ourselves. PHIMSA is not just a church; it is a place of transformation, self-discovery, and restoration in God’s Kingdom.
In December 2024, Pastor Shabangu shared a powerful message encouraging us to not give up but to approach challenges with renewed determination. This mindset carried us into the new year with hope and purpose.
Looking Ahead: A Vision for 2025
As we embark on this new year, we are excited about the developments ahead:
- Completing the Church Community Building: We are launching a project to ensure the successful completion of our church building.
- Restructuring Leadership: We aim to establish a new leadership structure to better serve both the church and the organization.
- Community Engagement: With new programs and initiatives, we plan to deepen our involvement in the community, providing sustainable support and assistance.
With our 2025 theme, “Be the Change You Want to See,” we are focusing inward, examining how we can better represent and serve God’s Kingdom. Together, we look forward to a year of growth, unity, and impact—all for His glory.
Let us step boldly into 2025, holding onto the promise that God is with us every step of the way.
